• Descripción: Cholesterol Myristate is a fatty acid that is found in the outer membrane of cells. It has been shown to be an effective cationic surfactant and to form films at low concentrations. Cholesterol Myristate is used in the manufacture of anti-infective ointments, lotions, creams, and other skin care products. It has also been used as a film-forming polymer for cosmetic applications such as mascara and lipsticks. The phase transition temperature for cholesterol myristate is about -10°C. This means that it will not crystallize until the temperature drops below 10°C. The human serum stability of cholesterol myristate is low because the hydroxyl group interacts with water molecules, causing hydrolysis and oxidation reactions.
