Descripción:5-Chloro-2-nitrotoluene is an anti-cancer drug that has been shown to be effective against a variety of cancer cell lines, including carcinoma and pancreatic cancer cell lines. 5-Chloro-2-nitrotoluene inhibits the growth of cancer cells by binding to sulfhydryl groups in cellular membranes, which prevents the release of essential building blocks for the synthesis of proteins, nucleic acids, and lipids. This compound also inhibits the activity of enzymes that are involved in the synthesis of these compounds. It has been shown to have chemopreventive effects in animal studies.
