4-Chlorobenzenesulfinic acid is a diagnostic agent that can be used as an efficient method for the determination of alkali metals. It is also used to make diluents and voltammetric electrolytes. 4-Chlorobenzenesulfinic acid has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against urazoles, which are fungi that cause disease in plants.
