Descripción:
(4-Chlorobenzyl)triphenylphosphonium Chloride is a chiral reagent used in organic synthesis. It is a wittig reagent that forms salt with chloride and sodium borohydride reduction. (4-Chlorobenzyl)triphenylphosphonium Chloride can be used to synthesize isomers with different configurationally. When it reacts with aldehydes, it reduces them to alcohols. It can also be used as a catalyst for the reductive cleavage of acetals and ketals to give alkenes. The optical purity of this compound can be determined by high performance liquid chromatography analysis.
