3-Chloro-2,4,5,6-tetrafluoropyridine is a chlorinated heterocyclic compound with a molecular formula of CClF. It is synthesized by the reaction of magnesium and chlorine atoms. The bond cleavage in 3-chloro-2,4,5,6-tetrafluoropyridine can be explained by the formation of a pyridinium intermediate by the reaction of an electron pair with a chlorine atom. The isomeric nature of 3-chloro-2,4,5,6-tetrafluoropyridine can be explained through its ability to rotate freely around the central carbon atom.
