Descripción:1-Chloro-1-fluoroethane is a chemical compound that is used as a corrosion inhibitor for steel. It binds to water molecules and prevents the formation of hydrogen bonds with other substances, such as fatty acids. It is also used as a solid catalyst for the reaction of chloride with fluorine. 1-Chloro-1-fluoroethane has low energy and can be used in a flow system. It has been shown to be an effective catalyst for the production of hydrogen chloride from hydrogen fluoride and chlorine gas. Vibrational spectroscopy data show that 1-chloro-1-fluoroethane interacts with water molecules by forming hydrogen bonds.
