4-Chloro-7-Fluoroquinoline is a nucleophilic quinoline derivative that has been used as an antitumor drug. This compound has been shown to inhibit the growth of tumor cells by binding to their receptors and interfering with the activation of growth factor receptors. The synthesis of 4-chloro-7-fluoroquinoline begins with malonate, which reacts with ethoxymethylenemalonate in the presence of fluoride to form a fluorinated quinoline. The reaction product is then reacted with 1,2,4-triazole to produce the final product.
