Descripción:Chlorodifluoroacetaldehyde is a hydroxy-containing compound that is soluble in organic solvents. It is used as a starting material for the synthesis of other compounds, such as picolinic acid and insoluble polymers. Chlorodifluoroacetaldehyde has been shown to have biological properties that are similar to those of the neurotransmitter GABA. It also inhibits cholesterol production in rats by blocking the conversion of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG CoA) to mevalonic acid, which can lead to high levels of low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol. Additionally, chlorodifluoroacetaldehyde has been shown to inhibit the growth of liver microsomes from rat livers and increase the levels of trifluoroacetic acid (TFA).
