4-Chloro-2-trifluoromethylquinazoline is a phenoxy compound that functions as an antiparasitic drug. It has been shown to be toxic to hepg2 cells and cause cell death by inhibiting the production of proteins vital for cell division. This compound also inhibits the growth of toxoplasma gondii, which is a parasite that can cause chronic infections in immunocompromised patients. 4-Chloro-2-trifluoromethylquinazoline shows mutagenic activity in vitro and has been shown to be multiresistant in vivo.
