It inhibits the enzymes (Diphenyl Ether Nitroreductase, Connective Tissue Nitroreductase, and Proteolytic Nitroreductase) involved in the biosynthesis of nitric oxide. This drug also inhibits the production of prostaglandins and leukotrienes. 5-[2-Chloro-5-(Trifluoromethyl)Phenoxy]-2-Nitrobenzoic Acid competitively binds to the enzyme carboxamide reductase, which catalyzes the conversion of 2-chloroisonicotinic acid into 2-chloropropionic acid.
