Arachidic anhydride is a fatty acid with a hydroxyl group on the end of it. It can be used for developing film in photography and for cross-linking two different molecules together. Arachidic anhydride is also used as a sample preparation agent for organic compounds. It has a molecular weight of 128.06 g/mol, and its chemical formula is C20H37O2. This compound has two nitrogen atoms that are located at positions 1 and 3 on the molecule, which will appear as peaks at approximately 7.6 ppm and 8.3 ppm in the nmr spectrum. When exposed to light, this compound will form a monolayer around itself, which can be modified by adding modifiers to it to alter its properties.
