Descripción:Isamfazone is a long-acting pharmaceutical preparation that is used orally to treat circumferential burns. It is a hydrophobic and salicylic acid-based topical agent, which can be reconstituted with water or other diluents. Isamfazone has been shown to have therapeutic efficacy in the management of chronic wounds. This drug is a prodrug that undergoes systemic absorption and iontophoresis to reach its target cell. It inhibits inflammation by modulating the production of mediators, such as cytokines, prostaglandins, and nitric oxide. Isamfazone also prevents the development of bacterial infections by inhibiting enzyme synthesis and protein synthesis in bacteria.
