3',4'-Dichloro-5-fluorobiphenyl-2-amine (3,4'DFCBA) is a pyridine that belongs to the class of aminopyridines. It has been synthesized by the reaction of phosphorus oxychloride with 2,6-dichlorobenzophenone. In this reaction, chloride ions are replaced with bromine and the product is substituted at the 3 and 4 positions. The resulting 3,4'DFCBA is a light yellow solid with a melting point of 114°C. This compound has shown activity as an aromatization agent in the synthesis of various aromatic compounds. 3,4'DFCBA can also be chlorinated to form 3',4'-Dichloro-5-bromofluorobiphenyl-2-amine (3,4'DBFBBA).
