Descripción

1-[2,6-Dichloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-3-methyl-4-(trifluoromethylsulfanyl)pyrazole (DCPT) is a pyrazole derivative that inhibits the voltage-gated sodium channels in neurons. It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of sciatic pain and is highly resistant to cross-resistance with other sodium channel blockers. DCPT also blocks potassium channels, which may lead to additional effects on neuronal excitability. DCPT has been studied in vitro for its potential use as an insecticide against Drosophila melanogaster and D. melanogaster flies.
