Descripción

Perfluorodecalin is a fluorocarbon liquid that is used as an oxygen carrier in perfusion. It has a high solubility for oxygen, which is why it is used to provide oxygen to the body during periods of low blood flow. Perfluorodecalin has been shown to be effective at delivering oxygen to the red blood cells and is less toxic than other perfluorinated liquids. This liquid also has an effective dose of 0.25 mL/kg, which can be administered by intravenous injection or infusion over a period of 30 minutes.
