1,3-Dinitro-2-chloro-5-trifluoromethylbenzene (1,3-DCB) is a pharmacological treatment for autoimmune diseases. It is a hydrogen donor that reacts with amines to form a bond. Its antimicrobial activity has been attributed to the membrane channel effect and interaction with hydrogen bonds. 1,3-DCB is used in analytical methods such as tissue culture and monoclonal antibody production.
