Descripción:n-Decylpentaoxyethylene is a cationic surfactant that binds to proteins by hydrogen bonding. It is used as a model system for studying the interactions between fatty acids and cell cytoplasm in influenza virus. n-Decylpentaoxyethylene has been shown to prevent bronchiolitis obliterans, a disease caused by influenza virus, by binding to albumin and preventing the virus from entering cells. It also prevents the replication of influenza viruses in cell culture.
