• Descripción: 3,3-Diphenylpropan-1-ol is an organic compound that is used in the manufacture of dyes and pharmaceuticals. It can be synthesized by the oxidation of anisaldehyde with peroxide. 3,3-Diphenylpropan-1-ol has been shown to be a good substrate for dehydrogenation reactions to produce aldehydes and organic acids. This product is also a Grignard reagent and can be used in the synthesis of styrene from benzene. 3,3-Diphenylpropan-1-ol has shown antibacterial activity against gram positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus; it is not active against gram negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli.
