- Hydrazine, (2,4-Dimethylphenyl)-
2,4-Dimethylphenylhydrazine hydrochloride is a synthetic compound that denatures human erythrocytes. It is used as an analytical reagent in the determination of pyrazoles and a number of phenylhydrazines. This chemical has been shown to act on the cytosolic protein and yields polyacrylamide gels with high resolution. 2,4-Dimethylphenylhydrazine hydrochloride also catalyzes the production of chalcones from hydroxycinnamic acids with hydrochloric acid and produces proteolytic enzymes from trypsinogen.
