Dimethylaminoethanethiol (DMAET) is a drug that is used in the treatment of rotator cuff injuries. It has been shown to reduce inflammation by inhibiting the release of histamine and other inflammatory mediators in a dose-dependent manner. DMAET also inhibits the production of prostaglandins, which are important mediators in pain transmission. This drug binds to the H2 receptor, which is responsible for regulating gastric acid secretion. DMAET has been shown to be effective against h2 receptor antagonists such as cimetidine, ranitidine, famotidine, and nizatidine. DMAET has also been shown to be useful for treating allergies due to its ability to block histamine receptors.
