Diethyl 3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrrole-2,4-dicarboxylate (DDMPDC) is a monomer that is used in the synthesis of polymers. DDMPDC has a symmetric structure with two methyl groups on the carbon atoms and one acetoacetate group. It can be synthesized by the electrolysis of aniline with perchlorates and acetonitrile. DDMPDC has been shown to have antioxidant properties in its ability to scavenge free radicals. The spectrum of DDMPDC shows peaks at 733 cm−1, 571 cm−1, 434 cm−1, and 292 cm−1.
