Disperse Blue 102 is a diazonium salt that can be used as a dye in biological samples. It has been used to identify and quantify fatty acids in the sample by means of chromatography. Disperse Blue 102 can also be used as an indicator for the presence of allergens, such as proteins and lipids, which are present in low concentrations. Disperse Blue 102 has been shown to have a strong affinity for nanomaterials, such as silicon dioxide. This dye is also soluble in organic solvents and can be applied to surfaces using film-forming polymers.
