6,7-Dihydro-1,1,2,3,3-pentamethyl-4(5H)-indanone is a biofuel that can be used as a feedstock for the production of biodiesel or other fuel oils. It is an oily liquid with a neutral pH and it can be used in wastewater treatment. 6,7-Dihydro-1,1,2,3,3-pentamethyl-4(5H)-indanone can be extracted from biomass using dispersive solid phase extraction (SPE). The SPE process has been shown to result in higher recovery rates than traditional liquid solvent extraction methods. This active ingredient is also used as an analytical method for determining fatty acids in samples.
