3,3'-Diethylthiatricarbocyanineiodide is a molecule that belongs to the group of growth factors. It has been shown to enhance the production of nerve growth factor (NGF) in cell nuclei. 3,3'-Diethylthiatricarbocyanineiodide is also able to bind with high affinity to c-reactive protein and may be useful for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease. The binding constants of this molecule are relatively low compared to other molecules that belong to the same class.
