• Descripción: 3,4-Dicyanothiophene is a low molecular weight aromatic compound that can be used as a substitute for anthracene in OLEDs. 3,4-Dicyanothiophene has been shown to efficiently emit light when exposed to UV radiation. The absorption spectra show a bathochromic shift with an increase in the wavelength of the maximum absorption peak. In addition, this compound has been found to have low toxicity and good chemical stability. 3,4-Dicyanothiophene is not a semiconductor but it is possible to introduce c-h bonds in order to make it into one. This could lead to the development of new types of materials, with useful properties such as high efficiency and optical transparency.
