2,5-Dimethoxyphenylboronic acid is a boronic acid that can be used in cross-coupling reactions. The compound is an effective methyltransferase that can catalyze the transfer of methyl groups to various acceptors. 2,5-Dimethoxyphenylboronic acid is also used in histone methylation and has shown biological functions such as the regulation of gene expression and the control of cellular differentiation. It has been shown to have anti-leishmanial effects by inhibiting protein synthesis and cell division and inducing apoptosis.
