Descripción

Icariin is a natural product that can be found in the plant genus Epimedium. Icariin has been shown to reduce body weight, fat mass, and cardiometabolic risk factors in pre-adipocyte 3T3-L1 cells by increasing the expression of c-jun and phosphorylation of signal pathways. Icariin also inhibits cell proliferation in human breast cancer cells MCF-7 by suppressing ERα expression and activating caspase-3. Icariin has also been shown to have protective effects on the heart and blood vessels by inhibiting platelet aggregation.
