2,2-Diethoxypropanenitrile (DEPC) is an organic chemical compound with the formula CH2OCH2CN. The name DEPC comes from the diethoxyphenyl group connected to two ethoxy groups. It is a colorless liquid that is soluble in many solvents. DEPC has been used as a solvent for preparing other chemicals, such as pesticides and pharmaceuticals, and as a reagent in organic synthesis. This chemical has been shown to slow down production of tyrosine kinase, which may be the cause of its effect on autoimmune diseases.
