• Descripción: Diethylzinc is an organometallic compound that is used in organic synthesis. It is soluble in hexane, but not water. It has been shown to be a suitable catalyst for the palladium-catalyzed coupling of ethyl bromide and 2-methyl-2-butene with the presence of a base and light. Diethylzinc has also been used as a reagent in asymmetric synthesis and in the oxidation of alcohols to ketones. In addition, it has been used as an electrolyte in electrochemical impedance spectroscopy experiments to study reaction mechanisms.
