11(Z)-Dodecenoic acid is a natural compound that has been found to have an effect on the activity of cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes. It has been shown to inhibit the production of nadph-cytochrome P450, which leads to an increase in the production of nitric oxide, and also inhibits the production of dinucleotide phosphate. This inhibition causes a decrease in nucleophilic substitutions, leading to an increased antimicrobial activity. 11(Z)-Dodecenoic acid has been shown to be effective against triticum aestivum and Staphylococcus aureus and other bacteria at a concentration of 10 micrograms/mL. At this concentration, 11(Z)-dodecenoic acid was found to affect enzyme activities such as p-450 enzymes and rat liver microsomes.
