5-[2-[(1,1-Dimethylethyl)-amino]-1-hydroxyethyl]-1,3-benzenediol is a drug that is used to treat asthma and other allergic reactions. It is a bronchodilator that relaxes the muscles in the airways and increases airflow to the lungs. Terbutaline has been shown to be effective against non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents, which are drugs that reduce inflammation. Terbutaline has also been shown to increase systolic pressure in people with high blood pressure and can cause heart disease in those with structural heart disease. The drug is not active against bowel disease.
