• Descripción: Diquafosol is a topical ophthalmic drug that has been clinically studied for the treatment of chronic dry eye. Diquafosol is thought to work by stimulating the lacrimal gland, which is the target tissue for this drug. It also binds to benzalkonium chloride and ophthalmic solution molecules in the tear film, forming a polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The polymerase chain reaction increases the production of mucin in gland cells, which helps retain moisture in eyes and lubricate them.; Diquafosol tetrasodium has been shown to increase tear production and improve dry eye symptoms after two weeks of use.
