Descripción

1-[1,3]Dioxolan-2-ylmethyl-1H-pyrazole-4-boronic acid, pinacol ester is an adrenergic receptor agonist that belongs to a class of medications called hypotensive drugs. It is used as a topical ophthalmic agent to reduce intraocular pressure in patients with glaucoma or ocular hypertension. This drug can also be used to treat polychondritis and granulomatous inflammation of the ear canal. Topical administration of 1-[1,3]Dioxolan-2-ylmethyl-1H-pyrazole-4-boronic acid, pinacol ester has been shown to decrease intraocular pressure by blocking alpha 1-, alpha 2-, and beta 1/beta 2,-adrenergic receptors in the ciliary body. This drug has not been tested for carcinogenicity or mutagenicity.
