• Descripción: D-threo-PDMP is a fatty acid that has been shown to induce necrotic cell death in vitro. It inhibits the enzyme activities of both the phosphatidylcholine (PC) synthase and the phospholipase A2, which are required for PC synthesis. D-threo-PDMP also inhibits the growth factor-β1, which is necessary for cellular proliferation. Research has shown that D-threo-PDMP can be used as an analog for D-threo-dihydrocannabinol (D2THC), a naturally occurring compound found in cannabis. The drug can be used to study the role of endocannabinoids in oxidative stress and metabolic disorders. These properties have been demonstrated in vitro using primary cells and cellular physiology.
