• Descripción: Dimethyldistearylammonium chloride is an organosilicon compound that is a component of some polymer compositions. It is used as a disinfecting agent, in the manufacture of human immunoglobulin, and as a model system for studying ion exchange properties. This compound has been shown to be effective at concentrations between 20-30% for killing bacteria, but it does not have any significant activity against fungi. The optimum concentration for killing bacteria has been reported to be about 25%. Dimethyldistearylammonium chloride is cationic and lipophilic, making it suitable for use in liposomes as well as water vapor.
