Descripción:9-Dehydroandrostenedione is a naturally occurring molecule that has been found to inhibit cancer cell growth in vitro. In the presence of oxygen, it reacts with the carbonyl group to form an oxygenated intermediate. This intermediate binds to specific receptors on cells, leading to inhibition of cell growth. 9-Dehydroandrostenedione also minimizes the mitochondrial membrane potential, which may lead to anticancer activity. The compound has been shown to be an inhibitor of aromatase, which is involved in the conversion of androgenic hormones into estrogens.
