• Descripción: 3,4-Dichlorohexafluoro-1-butene is a by-product of the synthesis of pentafluoropropene. It is produced by the carbonylation of ethylene using carbon fluoride as the catalyst. 3,4-Dichlorohexafluoro-1-butene is used in the production of epoxy resins and polyurethanes. The carbonyl products are cleaved with sodium hydroxide to produce 3,4-dichlorohexafluorobutyric acid and dichloroacetic acid. 3,4-Dichlorohexafluoro-1-butene can be converted to hexafluoropropylene oxide (HFPO) by reacting it with oxygen in an epoxidation reaction.
