Docosahexaenoyl ethanolamide is a cyclase inhibitor that has been shown to have anorexigenic effects in mice. This compound inhibits the synthesis of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, which may be due to its ability to block toll-like receptor signaling pathways. Docosahexaenoyl ethanolamide also has been shown to increase the activity of PPARα, which regulates lipid and glucose metabolism. The physiological function of docosahexaenoyl ethanolamide is not well understood and further research is needed.
