5,5-Dimethyl-2-sulfanylideneimidazolidin-4-one is a diphenyl ether with anticancer properties. It has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells by interfering with the hydrogen bonds in their DNA. This compound also inhibits the growth of bacteria and yeast by binding to the phosphate groups on their DNA. 5,5-Dimethyl-2-sulfanylideneimidazolidin-4-one has a molecular weight of 176.2 g/mol and a melting point of -29.8 °C.
