Dimethyl pimelimidate dihydrochloride is a diagnostic agent that is used to identify cancer cells. It binds to the receptor activity of polyclonal antibodies, which are then tagged with an isopeptide that can be detected by microscopy or other techniques. This technique is useful in identifying cancer cells and has been shown to be more sensitive than traditional methods. Dimethyl pimelimidate dihydrochloride has been shown to bind to the ubiquitin ligases, which are involved in protein degradation and regulation of cell signaling pathways. This drug is also effective in diagnosing infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and AIDS.
