1,6-Dimethoxyhexane is a testicular toxicant and industrial chemical that has been shown to decrease sperm motility in rats. The effect of 1,6-dimethoxyhexane on rat spermatozoa was investigated using analytical toxicology methods. Sprague-Dawley rats were dosed with 1,6-dimethoxyhexane at a concentration of 25 mg/kg body weight for 4 weeks. Sorafenib was administered as a positive control. Acid reactive substances and interaction energies were determined by the X-ray absorption spectroscopy method. The molecular structure of 1,6-dimethoxyhexane was determined by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra. Thermodynamic data are available for the reaction of 1,6-dimethoxyhexane with acid and water. Additives such as spermatocytes were also studied.br>br>
