Demethoxysudachitin is a flavonol glycoside that has been shown to have radical scavenging activities. It also has the ability to inhibit autophagy and increase locomotor activity, which may be due to its effects on fatty acid metabolism. Demethoxysudachitin has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, as it inhibits acetylcholinesterase and reduces the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Demethoxysudachitin also reduces oxidative stress in cells by increasing the expression of genes involved in mitochondrial function, such as cytochrome c oxidase and ATP synthase.
