Descripción:1,2-Dibromo-3-chloropropane is a glycol ether that is used in the production of polyurethanes. It is also used as an agricultural fumigant. This chemical has been shown to cause cancer and genotoxic effects in animal studies. It has also been shown to have negative impacts on energy metabolism and liver enzyme activities in animals. Chronic oral exposure of this chemical has been shown to cause liver damage in hamsters. Exposure to 1,2-dibromo-3-chloropropane causes testicular degeneration in male rats and reduces sperm production. The low dose group was found to have the most significant histological changes in the liver cells and tissues.
