Descripción:Dabigatran etexilate mesylate is an anticoagulant that is a prodrug of dabigatran, which is not active in the body. It is a synthetic molecule that has been designed to be rapidly converted into dabigatran by esterases in the blood plasma. Dabigatran etexilate mesylate has been shown to have a high bioavailability and low clearance rate, as well as good oral absorption and stability. The drug can be used for people with impaired liver function who are being treated with warfarin or heparin, without any change in dosage requirements. The antidote for dabigatran etexilate mesylate is idarucizumab, which binds to dabigatran in the bloodstream and prevents its binding to thrombin receptors on the surface of blood cells.
