2-Demethyl colchicine is a natural compound that belongs to the group of flavonoids. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and has been studied for its ability to inhibit the formation of leukotrienes, which are important mediators in allergic reactions. 2-Demethyl colchicine also reduces inflammation caused by excessive production of nitric oxide, which can lead to inflammatory diseases such as atherosclerosis. 2-Demethyl colchicine has a high affinity for potassium dichromate, with a formation rate of 1:1.
