Descripción

Dexamethasone acid is a synthetic glucocorticoid that has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi. This drug is also used in cell culture as an immobilizing agent. Dexamethasone acid has been shown to reduce chemokine production in human cells and to decrease the diameter of micron-sized particles. It is not active against HIV infection, but it has been shown to be effective in treating bowel disease and inflammatory bowel disease by inhibiting protein synthesis. Dexamethasone acid is biodegradable, making it suitable for use as a biodegradable implant.
