1,7-Dimethyl-1H-imidazo[4,5-g]quinoxalin-2-amine is a synthetic molecule that has been shown to cause cancer in animals. This compound is metabolized by the liver and excreted through the urine. In humans, imidazoquinoxalines are excreted by both the lungs and kidneys. The carcinogenic effects of this compound have been observed in rats and mice fed a diet containing 1,7-dimethyl-1H-imidazo[4,5-g]quinoxalin-2-amine. This chemical also has mutagenic properties and causes genetic damage in humans due to its interaction with DNA. 1,7-Dimethyl-1H-imidazo[4,5-g]quinoxalin-2 amine is detected using analytical chemistry methods such as gas chromatography or liquid chromatography.
