4-[4-(Dimethylamino)phenyl]-1,2,4-triazolidine-3,5-dione (DMT) is a chiral and structural analog of the commonly used reagent dithiothreitol (DTT). This compound has been used to determine the reaction time of a variety of reactions. The chlorides in DMT react with fluorescamine to produce a fluorescent compound that can be detected by fluorimetry.
