Descripción

L-DOPA methyl ester hydrochloride is a form of L-dopa that is used to treat Parkinson's disease. It is a prodrug of L-dopa, which has been shown to have a pharmacokinetic profile similar to that of levodopa. L-DOPA methyl ester hydrochloride is administered orally and is released slowly into the blood stream over time. This drug has been shown to interact with other drugs, such as antidepressants and antipsychotics, through its effects on neurotransmitters. In addition, this drug may cause locomotor activity in animals and can cause an increase in levels of dehydroascorbic acid in patients with chronic oral administration.
