• Descripción: Diethyl isopropylmalonate (DIM) is an aromatic hydrocarbon that has been shown to have anticancer activity in animal models. It has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of prostaglandins and reduce oxidative stress. DIM has been used as a solid catalyst for the hydrogenation of polyunsaturated fatty acids, such as linoleic acid and linolenic acid, in order to make them more resistant to oxidation. Diethyl isopropylmalonate has shown potential as a therapeutic agent for eye disorders such as dry eye syndrome, retinitis pigmentosa, and age-related macular degeneration because it inhibits matrix metalloproteinase activity. This chemical may also play a role in preventing cancer because it can bind to histone H3 proteins, which are known tumor suppressors.
